Students protest against the need to reconstruct the destroyed building by earthquake

Desk By Karuna

The building, which was destroyed by the terrible earthquake, has been the focus of a protest by students at Trichandra Campus in Ghantaghar, Kathmandu.

The Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) has protested saying that it has not shown interest in the reconstruction despite the long period of damage caused by the earthquake.

The students taking part in the protest displayed placards. The students blamed the education minister for being silent and irresponsible towards the matter. The government, according to the students, has not provided the Trichandra Campus reconstruction, which is important to Nepal’s history.

Trichandra College, which has been around for 104 years, is in such horrible condition that the students have started a campaign to save the campus. Due to a lack of repair, the former Trichandra College building, which was demolished by the earthquake of 2072 BS, is deteriorating rapidly.
