China aviation regulator reports civilian helicopter crash in Beijing, two pilots killed

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on Thursday reported a tourist helicopter crash in Beijing on Wednesday, during which two pilots onboard were killed.

According to the North China Regional Administration under CAAC, a Bell 505 helicopter belong to a Beijing firm crashed on Wednesday afternoon during a transfer flight between Beijing’s Changping and Fangshan districts.

The crash killed both pilots on board and the helicopter was heavily damaged. No other casualties have been reported, according to a notice on the administration.

The administration dispatched a special group to the crash site immediately after the incident, and an investigation into the incident remains underway, according to the notice.
