Floods in Damak have displaced more than a dozen families

Kathmandu, June 20

The flood on the Ratuwa River in Jhapa district has displaced a dozen families.

People living behind the Red Cross building in Damak have been displaced due to floods
triggered by incessant rains, according to the Jhapa District Police Office.

Floods have damaged many as 13 houses in the area, according to police.

With the help of Nepal Police and locals, the families were rescued and shifted to a safe place and relatives’ houses.

Due to the flood in the Ratuwa River, around 25 houses in the Tanguwa settlement in
Gauradaha Municipality’s Ward No. 6 have been inundated on Tuesday morning.
