Kathmandu, June 18
The Social Security Fund has so far paid nearly Rs 1.5 billion to the social security scheme’s contributors.
With a fund payment of Rs. one billion 435.3 million, the fund has offered different advantages to contributors until June 16.
Under the treatment programs, health, and maternity program, the fund has given Rs 194.56 million to 10,596 contributors, and Rs 191,31,106 to 496 contributors under the accident and disability protection scheme.
Families of 210 contributors received Rs. 336,393 for dependents under the dependent family protection scheme, and Rs. 1,191,318,570 for 17,772 contributors under the old age protection scheme.
The contributors have accessibility to four services provided by the fund.
On November 27, 2018, the fund, which was founded on March 21, 2011, put the plan into
action. On behalf of the employer and 11% of the workers, 21% of the total should be
deposited in the fund.
One percent would go to Medicare, Health and Maternity Protection Scheme, 1.4 percent to
Accident and Disability Protection Scheme, 0.27 percent to Dependent Family Protection
Scheme, and 28.33 percent to the Old Age Protection Scheme.
20 percent of the old age protection program’s 28.33 percent will be put in the pension scheme, while 8.33 percent will be deposited in the retirement scheme. In the event of a fiscal crisis, contributors will be entitled to withdraw the funds invested in the pension scheme after a certain period of time.
The fund has received Rs. 18.83 billion so far. There were 340,846 contributors recorded in the fund as of May. During that time, 17,130 employers were associated with the fund, according to the fund.
