Reconstruction of 583 cultural heritages destroyed by the earthquake

Kathmandu, June 15

In 2072 BS, 583 of the 920 cultural heritages damaged by the earthquake were rebuilt. Prem Ale, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation responded to a question in the House of Representatives by saying that the heritage reconstruction was done.

Minister Ale further stated that 700 homes will be rebuilt in the coming fiscal year. The
remaining properties are expected to be reconstructed during the following two years. The
Ministry of Finance has set aside Rs. 2 billion for this reason in the next fiscal year.

The Department of Archeology is reported to be in charge of the heritage turned over by the National Reconstruction Authority. The reconstruction of 64 of the 93 properties in the
Pashupati region that were damaged by the earthquake has been finished. The rebuilding of the Vishwaroopa temple has also started, according to Ale.
