During the rainy season, the government has paused the construction of new roadways.
On Wednesday, the Department of Roads published a public notice announcing that road
excavation will be prohibited for the next three months, from June 15 to August.
”During the rainy season, road digging for drainage, sewerage, power, telephone, and other purposes is not allowed, and the roads degrade even worse. Digging of any road under the Road Division of this office will be prohibited from July 1 to mid-August as according to the notice.
If somebody digs the road forcibly, action will be taken in accordance with the Public Roads Act 2031 BS.
