Which areas of Lumbini province are given priority in the budget?

Different sections of Lumbini province were given importance in the government’s budget presentation. Most of the previous Lumbini province schemes were continued in the budget presented by Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma before parliament, and some new schemes were also included.

Of this, Rs 3.12 billion would be used to upgrade the Amelia-Tulsipur-Salyan and other roads on Dang’s Rapti Highway. The airport and SEZ in Bhairahawa have been given the necessary funding. The SEZ, a Bhairahawa-based special economic zone, will be fully operational.

Similarly, the Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa will be fully operational, and work on the second terminal will begin as soon as possible. Similarly, Rupandehi’s Motipur Industrial Area will be built. A necessary budget has been set aside for this purpose.

The building of the Banke Regional Prison has been budgeted. A total of Rs 370 million has been aside for the country’s ten jails, including Banke. Construction of an integrated checkpoint at Bhairahawa in Rupandehi, a feasibility study for the creation of the Butwal Internet Exchange Center, and collaboration with Butwal Medical College and Lumbini Provincial Hospital will also be undertaken. In the same way, the Butwal-Narayangadh road will be finished in the coming fiscal year. In the same way, the Butwal-Belahiya road will be finished next year. In the same way, work on the Siddhababa tunnel in Butwal and Palpa will begin. A feasibility study for a tunnel route between Dumkibas and Bardaghat will be conducted. The closed Butwal textile plant will be reopened in an appropriate configuration, according to reports.

In Butwal Bhairahawa, a feasibility study for tram transportation will be done, and a trauma
center will be established in Saina Maina in Rupandehi. Similarly, the Urban River Corridor
Program will carry out embankment building and settlement protection along the Tinau Danav river corridor of Rupandehi. A budget has been set enough for the new Chitwan-Rampur-Butwal Expressway project.
