Tara Air Tragedy: Bodies will be collected and brought to Kathmandu

Kathmandu, May 30

Officials said the bodies of those killed in the Tara Air plane tragedy will be sent immediately to Kathmandu.

This morning, the ship was found among the ruins of the Sanusare in Mustang’s Thasang Gaonpalika-2. The dead are presently being collected by a team of army and villagers.

According to Prem Nath Thakur, board member of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority and general manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, the remains would be carried to Kathmandu and given over to the family.

Tara Air’s Nine N AET aircraft from Pokhara to Jomsom, carrying 19 passengers and three crew members, lost communication at 9:55 a.m. on Sunday. The ship was discovered in an accident this morning at a height of 14,500 feet while being searched.

According to Indusingh Sherchan, a social engineer and hotelier, the ship and the body were found scattered. He also stated that the body’s condition was serious.

Onboard the Nine N-AET Callsign, there were two international passengers, four Indian
passengers, and thirteen Nepalese passengers. The accident also affected seven members of the same Mithila Municipality-11 Lota of the Dhanusha family.

Captain Prabhakar Prasad Ghimire’s ship had co-pilot Utsav Pokhrel and flight attendant Kismi Thapa on board.
