Excise duty on chocolate increased by 10 percent

Kathmandu, May 30

The government has raised the tax on chocolate even further. The government has increased the excise charge on chocolate by ten percent, with a customs fee of forty percent.

The excise tax on chocolate, which was previously set at 5%, has now been raised to 15%.
Chocolates, both imported and domestically manufactured, have grown more costly as a result of the Fiscal Bill 2079’s increase in the tax on chocolates.
