To fix a road in the Ghantaghar area and pay a 30-unit power tariff

Kathmandu, May 27

Rajesh Man Singh, the newly elected mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

Chief Election Officer Dharmaraj Poudel administered the oath of office to him in the old bus park at Adarshnagar, Birgunj. Following that, he was appointed mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City. Since entering office, he has made three key choices.

From July 17, the corporation has decided to take on the responsibility of repairing
rundown roads in Birgunj’s Ghantaghar area, paying monthly fees up to 30 units of 10 thousand 924 households in the metropolis using household meters, and paying all fees charged for 70 irrigation meters in the metropolis.

By reducing administrative costs, he has chosen to investigate the corporation’s internal income situation, funds obtained from the federal and state governments, and other public-interest projects. Not to seat where the mayor formerly sat.

Bijay Kumar Sarawagi, the outgoing mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, had set up his office on the top floor of a new structure constructed subsequently in the metropolitan complex.

However, the new mayor, Rajesh Man, has chosen the room previously occupied by the top
administrative officer. This chamber is located on the first level of the old structure.
The Deputy Chief’s office is next door, while the Judicial Committee and Meeting Hall are on the first level. On the upper story of the same structure, a living room for the municipal police is being built.
