Kathmandu, May 19

Narasimha Byanjankar, who had won the ward chairmanship in Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 10 for the last ten years, has been defeated this time.

For the 11th time in the local level election of 2079 BS, he ran for the position of ward
chairperson on his own. But he lost by 282 votes to his own nephew Rabinman Byanjankar this time.

Narasimha received 543 votes, but his 44-year-old nephew Rabinman received 825 votes and was elected ward chairperson. Rabinman is a Nepali Congress candidate.

Narasimha, on the other hand, ran for election on his own. He was given the butterfly as an
electoral symbol.

In the year 2029 BS, Narasimha became the first ward chairman. He had defeated Devendra Lal Amatya, who was regarded to be close to the palace, at the time. He has led
Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 10 since then.

He ran unopposed for the Nepali Congress in the first local elections after the multi-party
system was implemented. He again won the local elections in 2074 on his own.
