Gopal Panjiyar of the Nepali Congress has won the mayorship of Haripur municipality in Sarlahi district

Kathmandu, May 16

Gopal Panjiyar of Nepali Congress has been elected as the Mayor of Haripur Municipality of
Sarlahi.

Panjiyar defeated Sunil Budhathoki of the CPN-Maoist Center by 3,051 votes.

He got 6 thousand 938 votes while Budhathoki got 3 thousand 887 votes.

Similarly, Congress candidate Neelam Raya Yadav was elected as deputy mayor with 5,583
votes. Her rival candidate Shila Karki of CPN-Unified Socialist got only 4,076 votes.
