Kathmandu, May 10
The Election Commission (EC) has recommended the private sector to take time off on May 13, the day of the local elections. The government has already made a decision about public holidays.
The commission has recommended that the business sector, various organizations, bodies, non-governmental organizations, banks and financial institutions, cooperatives, and others take leave on that day in order to ensure that all voters have the opportunity to vote in the local election.
All government offices and public entities around the country were given public leave according to the cabinet meeting on May 8th.
