Kathmandu, May 5
As compared to bank deposits, credit demand has more than tripled in the previous week.
According to a Bankers Association survey, total deposits at 27 commercial banks climbed by just Rs 1 billion between April 22 and May 10, while credit investment increased by Rs 3 billion.
Last week, banks increased deposits by Rs 1 billion, raising a total of Rs 4.368 trillion.
They have, on the other hand, invested Rs 41.97 trillion, increasing Rs 3 billion over the
previous month’s credit investment.
Banks took in Rs 4.367 trillion in such deposits and loans last week and invested Rs 4.194
trillion.
