The federation said, ”Eliminate load shedding in the industrial sector.”

Kathmandu, May 1

According to the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI),
excessive load shedding in the industrial sector has caused a significant crisis in the industry in recent days.

Hundreds of enterprises throughout the country’s key industrial corridors have been affected by unexpected significant load shedding lasting 12 to 16 hours, according to the federation.

According to a statement released by the federation, the private sector is concerned about
massive economic losses in the industries, which are negatively impacting productivity and
causing a significant economic crisis in the nation. Hundreds of businesses have asked the
federation to assist them in addressing the matter as soon as possible.

The FNCCI has requested prompt diplomatic action to provide a consistent supply of energy to Nepal in order to resolve the current crisis. The federation has asked for the schedule of
industrial power failures to be made public and for an uninterrupted supply of electricity to be ensured on time.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has urged the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of
Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the Government of Nepal, and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to discuss and find a solution to the problem as soon as possible. Private sector energy producers have the capacity to generate more energy, according to the NEA.
