US President Joe Biden has said that India’s decision to increase energy imports from Russia is not in Delhi’s interest Delhi is also not included in the international economic sanctions against Russia. Against this backdrop, an hour-long video conversation took place between President Biden and Prime Minister Modi on Monday.
During the talks, the US President told Modi that the issue of increasing Russian energy imports was not in Delhi’s interest, the White House said.
Biden told Modi during an hourlong video call Monday that the U.S. is ready to help India
diversify its sources of energy, according to White House spokeswoman said.
Although the United States and India have differing views on Moscow, the dialogue is said to be constructive.
Meanwhile, during a joint press conference with the Indian Foreign Minister in Washington, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called on like-minded countries to unite against Russia.
Talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday focused on the Ukraine war, Covid cooperation, the global economy, and Indo-Pacific security issues.
