Kathmandu, April 11

Dr. Shashank, the former General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, has urged Koirala for an explanation of the Election Commission’s statement on election expenditures.

Koirala reportedly revealed that the Assembly elections in 2074 cost more than Rs 60 million.

The commission said it had called Koirala’s attention to the fact that only 2.175 million was
stated in the report presented to the commission and that he should tell the commission within seven days.

Similarly, on April 9, a complaint was filed claiming a violation of the electoral code of conduct during a meeting held at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu and has given the CPN (Unified Socialist) three days to provide a proper response.
