A zip line has been built across the river Trishuli, linking Chitwan’s Ichchakamana and Gorkha’s Gandaki village, to promote tourism. The zipline linking Ichchakamana Gaonpalika-3 Chumkhola and Gandaki Gaonpalika-1 of Gorkha beneath the Prithvi Highway has been commercialized by River Fun Beach Resort. The zipline was jointly opened by Ichchakamana chairman Geeta Kumari Gurung and Gandaki chairperson Hom Bahadur Rana Magar. Chairperson Gurung, who inaugurated the zipline, said that it will aid in the growth of tourism.
River Fun Beach Resort Pvt. Ltd. managing director Shankar Adhikari said the 558-meter long zip line can be reached in 35 to 40 seconds from Chitwan’s Ichchakamana-3 Chumkhola to Gorkha’s River Fun Beach Resort in Gandaki-1 Buttar. He stated that the price for Nepali nationals will be Rs 1,000 and $15 for foreign tourists.
Tourists visiting Chitwan, Pokhara, Bandipur, Manakamana, and other destinations choose the zipline since it is near the Prithvi Highway, according to the official. The zip line was built at a cost of Rs. 30 million, according to Executive Director Rajan Sinkhada. For the first time in Nepal, he claimed, 80 percent of the river is an exciting type of zipline, which would help grow adventure tourism. Director Simkhada stated that the zipline was fully safe since no problems were discovered during the three-month testing period.
