Kathmandu, April 3
A joint military training ‘Balance Nail’ between the Nepal Army and the US Army on
peacekeeping operations has started in Nepal today.
This Joint Combined Exchange Training will provide a unique opportunity for soldiers from both nations to share their experiences and best practices for responding when crisis strikes, according to the US Embassy in Nepal.
Nepal Army spokesman Narayan Silwal said the joint exercise had started since August 2003.
The exercise will begin today at the Ranger Battalion’s Singh Mahavir Planning and Coordination Division Camp and Ranger Training Center in Nagarkot, according to the Nepal Army.
Twenty United States soldiers and 90 Nepal Army soldiers are participating in the training.
