Binod Kunwar has been elected president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA10th)’s World Conference, which is being headed by Shesh Ghale. The international summit conducted last night resulted in the formation of a new working committee chaired by Kunwar.

On March 25, a separate international summit led by Ghale was conducted in the middle of the NRNA’s internal conflict. The established party, on the other hand, has convened a global summit on March 26 and 27, which will include all unsatisfied teachers, and the leadership will be chosen by agreement beginning on Thursday.

Kunwar is a businessman in South Korea who was elected chairman of the Ghale group. He
moved to Beni Municipality, Myagdi, around 30 years ago and has a permanent address there. Currently, he is doing business in Korea.

He has been a member of the NRNA since 2006 and was president of Korea from 2009 to 2011. From 2013 to 2015, he served as NRNA Korea’s adviser and was re-elected chairman. In 2015-17, he was an ICC member, and from 2017 to 2019, he was the Deputy Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific Region. During the last term of 2019-2021, he was defeated in the same position.

He stated after being chosen chairperson that he will fulfill his duty properly because NRNA is a strictly non-political and social organization. He stated that there is now no alternative to NRNA unification and that he would take the effort to achieve it. ”The NRNA needs to follow in the same footsteps,” he added, adding that ”there are clearly some variances.”

He explained that the current scenario arose from the Ninth Working Committee’s failure to reach a rational resolution on subjects such as delegate selection. Bhuma Limbu was chosen vice-president of the Ghale group, while Tharka Bahadur Sen, Surendra Sigdel, Umesh Kumar Pudasaini, and Baburam Lama were elected vice-presidents of the Ghale group.

Janaki Gurung was chosen general secretary, while Junu Gurung was elected secretary. Dilaram Kharel has been named treasurer, Krishna Pokharel as regional coordinator (USA), Keshav Kandel as regional deputy coordinator for Oceania, and Ulka Prasad Ghimire as regional deputy coordinator for Europe.
