Chemical fertilizers have started to arrive in Nepal through Tatopani, a key Chinese trading hub. According to Narad Gautam of the Tatopani Customs Office, 232 metric tonnes of urea
manure were passed via the Tatopani gate yesterday.

Silk Market has been burdened with importing 10,000 metric tons of Chinese chemical fertilizer. Gautam stated that the products will be transferred to the capital as soon as the customs department’s report is obtained today. Silk had imported 1,500 metric tons of manure from China in the first cargo six months after obtaining the offer.

It is expected to help Nepali farmers who are suffering from a severe shortage of chemical
fertilizers. According to the Silk Market, the remaining 8,500 metric tons of manure have been delivered.
