The number of containers bringing commodities into the country from Rasuwagadhi has risen.

Since Wednesday, the number of containers carrying products from China has increased to 14, according to the Rasuwa Customs Office. Previously, nine containers of products were allowed to pass through the checkpoint every day.

The containers are being cleared every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Chief Customs Officer Ram Prasad Mainali. On a regular basis, he claimed, readymade clothing, apples, garlic, and hydropower projects pass through the gate. Last month, the border was closed due to the Chinese New Year and significant snowfall.

Despite an increase in imports from the Rasuwagadhi checkpoint at the start of the season,
another significant hot water checkpoint on the Chinese side has been vacant for over two
years. Seven containers pass through the checkpoint every day, according to the Tatopani
Customs Office.

”The Naka is in operation, but the business has not risen,” stated Chief Customs Officer Narad Gautam of Tatopani Naka.
