Tragedy in the Donetsk

By Karuna Thapa

Kathmandu, March 16

Based on the information provided by the Embassy of Russia in Nepal, the Ukrainian troops had attacked residential blocks in Donetsk with a tactical missile “Tochka-U” with a forbidden international law cassette combat unit. Women, children, and the elderly were among the 20 individuals killed, while another 28 were seriously injured.

The disaster in Donetsk, which claimed the lives of people, drew little response from the West as a whole. No one has just noticed the misery and death of these individuals, not the media, nor the so-called ”democracy institutions.” This is the core of the Western world’s ideas, with their double standards, in which people’s deaths are only a tragedy on one side. Other people’s deaths aren’t taken into account.

We send our heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and friends.
