A new exhibition at the National Art Museum of China is bringing works created and donated by late artist Li Pingfan to visitors as this year marks the 100th anniversary of his birth.
The Extraordinary of the Ordinary exhibition features more than 100 artworks from the artist’s vast donation of 1,600 works. It includes two sections: one for Li’s own prints, Chinese paintings and diaries, and another for Japanese ukiyoe prints and other artworks from Li’s personal collection.
During Li’s decades-long art career, Li created a number of print works for children, which gained aroused the interest and favor of young audiences.
The exhibition is set to run until March 9.
