Ram Kumar Jhakri, the Secretary of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Minister of Urban
Development, has called for her resignation. Her supporters have requested that Jhakri resigns from the government, claiming that she supports MCC and opposes the party’s decision.
The majority of those who spoke at a joint conference of 22 organizations linked with the
Unified Socialists in Kathmandu on Wednesday urged Jhakri’s resignation. Sudesh Parajuli, the UNHCR chairperson, Shambhu Shrestha, Naresh Shahi, and Jhakri, the party secretary who ran for MCC despite the party’s decision, all indicated they should resign from their ministerial positions.
