On Sunday night, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 closing ceremony, which took place at the National Stadium in Beijing.

Almost 3,000 athletes competed for 109 gold, 109 silver, and 109 bronze medals over the
course of the two-week Olympic Games.

At the closing ceremony, President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach asked world leaders to learn from athletes’ examples of peace and togetherness. ”The Olympic Games’ uniting strength is stronger than the power that divides us,” he remarked.

China’s ”true nature” was projected to the world by successfully hosting the Winter Olympics in the shadow of the raging COVID-19 and against the backdrop of certain countries staging a geopolitical farce, according to observers, who noted that it is a welcoming country dedicated to unifying countries and promoting peace, as well as a confident country proud of its achievements.

This time, Norway took first place in the Winter Olympics. Norway took home a total of 37
medals, including 16 gold, eight silver, and thirteen bronze. Second-placed Germany took home 27 medals, including 12 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze.

China, the hosts, came in third place. It has 15 medals to its name, including 9 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. With 25 medals, the United States came in fourth place, with eight gold, ten silver, and seven bronze. Sweden and the Netherlands tied for first place with 8 gold medals each. At the Olympics, competitors from 27 countries have won medals.

According to the International Olympic Committee, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is the
most viewed Winter Olympics ever.
