The ruling party, Nepali Congress (NC), is currently holding its parliamentary party meeting. The meeting is underway in the Lhotse Hall of the Federal Parliament Building at New Baneshwor.
The meeting is said to discuss the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center and the CPN (Unified Socialist) had on Sunday filed an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Rana. NC’s parliamentary party meeting comes at the time when the government is preparing to table the MCC in parliament for ratification.
