Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma has inspected the holding center under construction in Salghari area of Mahendranagar, the district headquarters of Kanchanpur. Sharma, who arrived in the far-western region along with Defence Secretary Kiran Raj Sharma, inspected the 1,000-capacity holding center under construction on Friday morning. The construction work of the holding center, which was supposed to be constructed by the Nepal Army as per the decision of the cabinet meeting of the Government of Nepal last April, has reached the final stage.
Hanuman Construction Pvt. Ltd., which got the contract for the construction of the holding center through the Nepal Army, has stated that the construction work of the center has reached the final stage.
Laxman Sapkota, site in charge of the construction, informed that the construction work of the holding center was 95 percent complete and the remaining work would be completed by mid-February and handed over to the concerned state government.
Bhagatpur Barracks, the outpost of Army No. 25, is overseeing the construction of the holding center. The facility is being constructed under the Nepal Army. During the inspection, Chief of Army Staff Sharma directed the construction company to complete the remaining work of the center in a transparent manner.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur Ram Prasad Pandey said that the rest of the center would be completed soon after the inspection of the team including Chief of Army Staff Sharma and Defence Secretary Kiran Raj Sharma. He said that the work of drinking water and road management for the center would be completed soon.
The construction company, which won the contract for the holding center for Rs 290 million, has stated that the holding center will be handed over to the army by mid-March.
Twenty-two different blogs have been created for the permanent holding center being constructed in three bigha areas. A holding center has been constructed in all the blogs with important services including bathroom, kitchen, and dining room.
