Kathmandu, February 8

The Nepal Veterinary Association has drawn the attention of the Chief Minister of Bagmati
Province, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, and Provincial Public Service Commission Hetauda.

The association has drawn the attention of Chief Minister Rajendra Prasad Pandey, Minister
and Chairman of the Public Service Commission Sureshman Shrestha, objecting to the
advertisement for the post of a veterinarian.

The Public Service Commission, Hetauda, had opened the advertisement of Nepal Agricultural Service, Veterinary Group, Veterinary Officer, Sixth Level for permanent filling of posts in 7 different local levels of the state on Magh 10.

The association has handed over a letter to Chief Minister Pandey, the two ministers, and
Chairman Shrestha demanding that the posts as per the advertisement be maintained at least seventh level. A team including the central chairman of the association Dr. Sheetal Kaji Shrestha handed over the letter.

According to the letter, the posts of the sixth tier have been created under the Personnel
Adjustment Act 2075 for the special purpose of promoting the technical staff who have been working in the first class for at least five years with the Gazette of Federal Structure. It is mentioned that it should not be done.

Earlier, the Bagmati Pradesh Public Service Commission had published an advertisement of the same nature but the association requested for correction but it was not implemented.

The association has requested to maintain the minimum qualification for the bachelor’s degree in veterinary science and to correct the vacancies opened in the sixth level open advertisement by maintaining at least the official seventh level.

According to the association, the advertisement made by the commission is a violation of the schedule as it clearly mentions the posts of veterinarians in the seventh and eighth tier of Schedule 2.6 of the Ministry of General Administration’s ‘Local Level Veterinary Service Center’.

Central Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, General Secretary, central office-bearers of the
Association, Chairpersons, and office bearers of other provinces including Bagmati Pradesh

Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh Pandey, while understanding the letter of attention of the
association, said that the government has been able to find a permanent solution to the
problem through the Act as there is no solution to the problem.
