A model bus park is being constructed in Kohalpur of Banke district. As the existing bus park is narrow, construction of a model bus park has been started near Kohalpur crossroads.
Chief of Kohalpur Municipality Lut Bahadur Rawat informed that 45 percent work of the bus
park has been completed so far. Work was started on Falgun 24, 2077 BS with an agreement for the construction of a bus park at a cost of Rs. 27 crore 84 lakh.
For the construction of bus park, 60 percent of the total budget has been allocated from the city development fund and 40 percent from Kohalpur municipality. The construction of the bus park, which is being constructed on five bighas and 16 Kattha, has been entrusted to Khadka-Daya Sagun Nirman Seva Construction to complete the construction in a period of two years.
Under the East-West Highway, Kohalpur is known as the gateway to Karnali and the Far West. According to Rawat, national and international buses will also be operated from Kohalpur Bus Park. The bus park will be child friendly, information friendly, technology friendly, drinking water, sewerage, underground electrification, refreshment center, shopping complex, said Chief Administrative Officer of Kohalpur Municipality Tikaram Dhakal.
Dhakal said that the internal revenue of Kohalpur Municipality will increase from the
construction of shutters, shopping complex, bus park parking and other structures to be
constructed in the bus park. The operation of the bus park is expected to ease the commuters and also help in the development of Kohalpur. The bus park under construction with a five-storey shopping complex will be a model bus park of Nepal, said Bal Krishna Mahatra, chief engineer of Kohalpur Municipality Infrastructure Development Branch. The municipality has put forward this as a plan of pride.
