Eight people have been killed in three separate avalanches in western Austria in the past 24 hours, the Austrian news agency APA reported on Saturday.
The incidents took place in Bhoralberg and Tyrol states on Friday and Saturday, police said. Four Swedish skiers and their Austrian guides were killed in an avalanche near the Austrian-Swiss border.
Authorities warned of more avalanches on Sunday.
