Students’ organizations close to the ruling party have demanded action against Kathmandu
Medical College (KMC) and Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar for fraud.
Representatives of eight student organizations including Nepal Students Union of Nepali
Congress, Akhil Krantikari of CPN-Maoist Center, ANNISU of CPN-Unified Socialists, Samajwadi Students Union of Janata Samajwadi Party and All Sixth of Rastriya Janamorcha met the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu and demanded to file fraud case against KMC and Nobel.
According to the student organizations, the 2021 batch of MBBS, BDS and BNS students have been barred from entering the classrooms even after KMC and Nobel students paid the fees as prescribed by the Medical Education Commission.
“We strongly demand immediate action against these medical colleges which have been charging extra fees against the rules, forcing students to enter into illegal contracts and robbing students of illegal dormitories at exorbitant prices,” the student union said in a statement.
