After returning from China, Maoist leader Pun met Prachanda

Kathmandu, January 25

CPN-Maoist Center leader Barshaman Pun ‘Ananta’, who returned home after four months of medical treatment, met party chairman Prachanda this morning.

Arriving in Kathmandu from China on Monday evening, he reached his residence in Khumaltar this morning to meet Prachanda again.

During the meeting, Chairman Prachanda took information about his health and wished him full health benefits. ”Comrade Prachanda welcomed our party leader Barshaman Pun Ananta, who had returned home after a long period of treatment, at his residence in Khumaltar and wished him a full recovery,” Prachanda’s Facebook page said. According to Prachanda’s secretariat, the current political situation and the party’s work were also discussed during the meeting.

Similarly, Leader Pun thanked Prachanda for his support for his treatment. On the initiative of President Prachanda and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the former
Minister went to Bangkok and then to China for re-treatment.

Speaking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport after returning from China on
Monday evening, Pun said that he was now in good health and his claim to the party general secretary was natural.

The UCPN (M) has not selected any candidate for the post of General Secretary. The UCPN (M) has convened a meeting of the Central Committee on Magh 27 to select the office bearers.
