Kathmandu, January 19
The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has fined the pharmacy for hiding citamole. The department has stated that Satdobato has been fined Rs 10,000 for not selling citamole to sick customers due to shortage in the market.
According to Dhaneshwor Poudel, inspection officer of the department, the customer did not have citamole during the raid. ”The demand for citamole has been high in the market for the past few days and the pharmacy has started returning customers saying no,” said Poudel. ”However, citamole was found in the warehouse.”
Poudel said that the department had immediately fined the pharmacy Rs 10,000 and alerted them for carteling sensitive items like medicines. The department also said that the market monitoring has been intensified after complaints that the demand for citamole has been high due to the increase in fever patients in the market for the past few days.
The department has also urged the consumers to immediately report any black market or
artificial shortage in any of the essential medicines of Covid.
