Preparation of the metropolis to re-operate the previously used isolation and quarantine

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has said that the number of Covid-19 infected people has
been increasing recently and is preparing for it. The free operation isolation and quarantine
sites used in the first and second phases of the Corona epidemic are being prepared this time as well, said Bidhya Sundar Shakya, chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Chief Shakya said, “We have discussed the matter with the Home Minister, various hospitals
and the Nepal Army. We have asked the Nepal Army and hospitals to be on standby. We are
also in a state of readiness. If necessary, we can immediately conduct free isolation and
quarantine.”

Chief Shakya also urged the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) to move ahead in
collaboration and coordination with the local government. He alleged that the CCMC had
consulted and coordinated with the local government during the first and second phase of
corona transition but it was not there now.

Residents of the metropolis are also requested to contact the health clinics and health
department in all 32 wards of the party if anything becomes more complicated.

As per the directives and criteria of the federal government, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has also managed the third dose of vaccine for the senior citizens including those in the forefront in the metropolitan area.
