Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Communications and Information
Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that the main opposition party has the same
responsibility as the government. Responding to media persons after the meeting of the High-Level Coordinating Committee formed to assist in the running of the government on Tuesday, Minister Karki said that the main opposition has the same responsibility as the government to make the parliament run smoothly.
”There was no discussion on the issue today but the Prime Minister had called an all-party meeting here some time ago to keep the parliament running smoothly,” Karki said, adding that the leader of the main opposition party was not present. Since then, the government has been making repeated efforts to keep the parliament running smoothly. ‘
Stating that he had also met the Leader of the Main Opposition in the same connection, he said that the Prime Minister had held a long meeting at the residence of the Leader of the Main Opposition a few days ago. ”The government has the same responsibility as the main opposition party to run the parliament, so the government is confident that this deadlock will be removed,” Karki said. He also said that the local elections would be held in accordance with the constitution.
