WHO warns not to use Omicron as flu

Kathmandu, January 12

The new Omicron variant of the Corona virus is said to be lighter than the previous Delta strain. Many experts also claim that Omicron infected people have flu-like symptoms.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a warning on Tuesday not to carry the flu-like disease instead of the epidemic. The WHO says the spread of Omicron has not yet stabilized.

”We are still surrounded by great uncertainty,” Catherine Smallwood, the WHO’s senior emergency officer for Europe, told a news conference on Tuesday. The virus is still developing rapidly. New challenges are emerging. We are not yet in a position to declare this epidemic a limited disease.”

Experts say that the severity of Covid-19 and flu symptoms depends on a person’s health. But problems like nasal congestion and diarrhea are rarely seen in Covid-19. Both infections cause runny nose, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle aches and nasal congestion. However, many studies have confirmed this. While in flu these symptoms are very intense.

According to a report, both Kovid-19 and the flu show symptoms of cold and fever very quickly. However, problems such as nasal congestion and diarrhea are rare in Covid-19 and are more common in the flu.

Some patients with Covid-19 also show symptoms of fatigue and body aches, while the flu
symptoms are more severe. By constantly monitoring the moments, the differences can be
better understood. The body should be tested immediately instead of ignoring its symptoms.
