Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has said that the country should not choose the path of
lockdown under any circumstances. He said this while speaking at the second annual general meeting of the Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) held in the capital on Monday.
On the occasion, Minister Sharma said that the main reason for the current severe economic crisis was the lockdown created by the Corona epidemic and the result of the economic sector affected by it.
Stating that the government is working to solve the liquidity problem that the market is facing now, Finance Minister Sharma urged the private sector not to seek profit in the crisis. “Crisis is crisis. Looking for profit in this too? Don’t do that Let the government and the private sector work together to solve the problem,” said Minister Sharma.
Similarly, Minister Sharma urged the private sector to reduce the import of non-liquid goods even in times of lack of liquidity. When it comes to capital expenditure, Minister Sharma said that the problem was due to weak and slow staffing system as other ministries did not spend it. He said that the Ministry of Finance has a lot of strength in this.
