In a group in the Chinese city of Tianjin, 14 million people have been tested for covid within 48 hours of being infected with covid.
Residents of the city have been urged to stay at home until the test report is received. Only
those with a negative report will be allowed to use public transport.
Of the 20 people who showed covid, two of them had a severe Omicron infection that spreads easily. China has adopted a zero anti-covid policy to eradicate covid from the community.
