CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has claimed that UML will be the first party in Province 2 from the upcoming election. Addressing the 10th district convention of the UML in Siraha on Saturday, General Secretary Pokharel claimed that the UML alone would overtake the parties in the alliance in the upcoming election and the UML would become the second largest party in the province 2.
Stating that the wave of UML is now spreading in the Terai-Madhes as the people of Terai-
Madhes are now seeking development over ethnic and regional issues, he said that those who try to weaken the UML by playing in the internal conflict will be defeated in the upcoming election.
Stating that elections should be held at all the three levels, he said that the sooner the election is held, the sooner the way out for development will be opened. UML secretary Raghuvir Mahaseth, standing committee member Prabhu Sah, politburo member Lila Nath Shrestha, central members Jwala Kumari Sah, Suman Raj Pyakurel and others addressed the program. The convention will elect a new leadership.
