The CPN-Maoist Center has given the right to select the candidate for the National Assembly to Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
A meeting of the newly elected Central Committee after the General Convention has given the right to select the candidate for the National Assembly to Chairman Dahal.
In a program organized for the oath of office and secrecy of the Central Member elected from the 8th General Convention held on Sunday, the top leaders discussed about the candidature of the National Assembly member.
The meeting of the ruling coalition also decided on the candidate. According to the coalition’s decision, the Maoists will nominate five members. Candidate nomination is scheduled today.
Meanwhile, the process of selection of Maoist central office bearers has been postponed for a few days. As the meeting of the Central Committee has been postponed till Poush 25, the
selection process has been postponed for a few days.
Chairman Dahal has said that the office bearers will be selected based on consensus after
discussions with all parties. Talking to media persons after the swearing in of the members of the Central Committee, he informed that the decision would be taken after the meeting on Poush 25.
The Maoists have 15 members. Provision has been made in the constitution for senior vice
president, vice president, general secretary, deputy general secretary, secretary and treasurer.
The Central Committee has 299 members. Today’s meeting has been postponed after
completing the process including the oath of office and secrecy.
