The responsibility of the director of the mental hospital Patan Dr. Ananta Adhikari have
received eternal authority. Health Minister Birodh Khatiwada on Sunday made a ministerial
decision. The officer has been given the responsibility of director.
Earlier, the director Dr. Mohan Raj Shrestha had taken compulsory leave three weeks ago. ”I received the letter from the ministry on Sunday. I will assume new responsibilities from today,” said Dr Adhikari. The official told news portal. Dr. Adhikari, the officer is the chief consultant psychiatrist (eleventh level) physician.
Patan Psychiatric Hospital, classified as the Central Mental Hospital of the Government of
Nepal, is currently operating with 50 beds. According to the patient’s pressure, the number of beds in the hospital was insufficient. The official explains.”Even the physical infrastructure of the hospital is inadequate due to the pressure of the patients. Now there are plans to make 100 beds by improving the physical infrastructure,” said Dr. Adhikari said.
