The South Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship will be held in Nepal next year

Kathmandu, December 28

The South Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship will be held in Nepal next year with the
participation of South Asian nations.

On the Asian Central Zone Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup being held in
Bangladesh, the General Assembly of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) held in Dhaka on Monday decided to organize South Asian level women’s volleyball in Nepal next year.
Nepal Volleyball Association has stated that the tournament will be held in Nepal.

Earlier, the first South Asian Women’s Invitational Volleyball Championship was held in Nepal in 2014 organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association. Although the South Asian nations started rotating competitions, it could not be continued. At that time, Nepal lost to India in the final and finished second.

Now CAVA is going to organize South Asian Volleyball. The women’s competition will be held in Nepal while the mens South Asian Volleyball Championship will be held in Sri Lanka. Similarly, South Asian Beach Volleyball will be held in Bangladesh.

The Asian Central Zone Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Championships will be held in Maldives next year.
