Kathmandu, December 23
Former winner Nepal has made a winning start in the Asian Senior Central Zone Women’s
Volleyball Challenge Cup.
In an exciting match of the tournament which started on Thursday in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nepal made a great comeback after falling behind by two sets and defeated Sri Lanka 3-2.
Sri Lanka won the first set 25-19 and the second set 25-21 to take a 2-0 lead. But then Nepal made a great comeback and won three sets in a row.
Nepal won the third set 25-15 and returned to the game. After Nepal won the fourth set 25-19, the game was extended till the last set.
Nepal won the decisive and final set 15-13.
Nepal will play its second match against Maldives on Friday. Today, Nepal’s men’s team will start the journey by playing the home team Bangladesh. The match between Nepal and Bangladesh will start at 4:45 pm.
There are 5 men’s and 6 women’s nations participating in the competition.
