UML obstructs Bagmati Provincial Assembly saying that the ministry has been increased and the plan has been cut

CPN-UML has obstructed the meeting of Bagmati Provincial Assembly today as well. The
current Rajendra Pandey-led state government has split the ministry from 8 to 14 and cut off the plans of the previous government. They have warned that the House will not be allowed to function until Chief Minister Pandey responds on the issue.

The agenda for Thursday’s meeting was to finalize the state tourism bill and the state higher education bill. Also, the meeting could not be held due to the obstruction of the CPN-UML, despite the agenda of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Krishna Prasad Khanal to submit some state laws for amendment.

As soon as the meeting started, UML lawmakers rose from their seats to protest. They kept on protesting even when Speaker Sanukumar Shreastha was repeatedly asked to sit down.

“The ministry has been split to add to the financial burden for no reason. We are asking for an answer to this, but the Chief Minister is not coming to the meeting and running away from the meeting. This cannot be done. He should come to the House and give an answer,” said UML MP and former minister Keshav Raj Pandey. After the UML did not proceed with the meeting due to obstruction, Speaker Shrestha had read out the notice that the meeting was postponed until further notice.
