Upgradation of Dhangadhi Airport to be taken forward: Tourism Minister Ale

Kathmandu, December 21.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the
work of land tribunal will be taken forward by allocating a budget of one billion rupees
within a week for the upgrade of Dhangadhi Airport.

Speaking at a program organized by the Nepal Tourism Board’s Far Western Provincial
Office in Dhangadhi on Monday, Minister Ale said that the ministry was managing the
budget for the construction of the regional airport. He said, “I want the state government
to be involved in this.”

He said that the government is going to run a government college in the far western
region from Natham under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Minister
Ale informed that the work of running the government college has been started within
his tenure and a team is coming from the center for the survey immediately.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of the
Far Western Province, Man Bahadur Dhami, said that the state government has already
provided informal and formal assistance for the establishment of the office and the state
government is ready to extend all possible assistance for further expansion of the office.
He said that the establishment of the office has put an end to the compulsion to go to
Kathmandu for even the smallest work.

Minister for Economic Affairs Tara Lama Tamang said that the state government was
committed to the sustainable economic development of the state as tourism was a
powerful means of identifying the far-western states. The program was chaired by Maya
Prakash Bhatta, Coordinator of Nepal Tourism Board Internal Tourism Rehabilitation
Committee, Far Western Province and Chairman of NATA Far Western Province,
President of Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, various personalities related to
tourism, media persons and others participated.
