CPN-Maoist Centre leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that his party is clear about the MCC. He clarified that the party has already decided that the MCC cannot be passed without amendment and said that the Maoist Centre will move forward accordingly.
According to him, the party will help to pass the MCC only if the provisions against Nepal’s national sovereignty, self-respect and national interest are corrected. “Nepal cannot accept the MCC project in the status quo without amending the provisions contrary to Nepal’s national sovereignty, self-respect and national interest,” Shrestha said on social media, “This is the official decision and opinion of our party, the CPN (Maoist Centre).”
He also urged not to get unnecessarily confused about MCC and not to spread misleading propaganda by linking the party.
