Chief Minister of State 1 Acharya resigned

State 1 Chief Minister Bhim Prasad Acharya has resigned from his post. In today’s meeting of the state assembly, Acharya has announced his resignation, expressing his views on getting a vote of confidence.

Acharya became the second Chief Minister of State 1 after the then Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai resigned on Bhadra 10. After the UML split, the Acharya-led government was in the minority. At the same time, all the six state governments led by UML have left. Rajendra Rai, the parliamentary party leader of the five-party CPN-Unified Socialist Party, has been nominated as the new chief minister.
