The Election Commission has demanded Rs 30 crore from the government for voter list management. As the date of local elections draws near, the commission has demanded Rs 30 crore for the purpose of managing the voter list. The commission plans to start managing the voter list immediately after Chhath.
Similarly, the commission has now proposed to hold elections according to the new law. The commission has stated that the process of drafting the law has been started by including 9 different laws in 3 laws.
For that, the agreement in principle of the Council of Ministers is required. The commission says that this work will pick up speed after the cabinet gives its in-principle consent.
