The Election Commission has drawn the attention of the government to take necessary steps to make the election process technology friendly. During a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Baluwatar on Monday, Chief Election Commissioners Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya drew the government’s attention to take the election to an ‘IT base’.
He was of the view that the traditional voting system should be removed and a timely technology-friendly structure should be adopted. According to the commission, emphasis has been laid on electronic voting and for that, it has been necessary to procure counting machines from the voting machines.
The commission has emphasized on making the overall election as soon as possible transparent as it is the practice to take only fingerprints while following the technology.
